Any tutorials?

Does anyone know where there are any tutorials for using this? I tried to drop an effect on a text box, but nothing comes up in the FlashEff window like it does in the demo. All the doc says is drop the effect on your object and work with the panel, well nothing comes up in the panel.

Any help is appreciated.
