Re: FlashEff2 Private Beta - 15 years ago
I'm not sure if you are looking only for industry professionals, but I consider myself an average user of flasheff. I purchased it because I wanted something user-friendly and quick to help me animate text and effects. I could offer feedback on the experience a non-actionscript educated person has with the product. I do have a programming background in C++ and minimally in Python.by dmnerd - News
Re: dynamic text question - 15 years ago
For something like that I would make each word there own dynamic text block and set them on their own timelines. Then I would just adjust the show/hide times for each to make them load and play in sync. But I'm not sure if that is the most efficient way to do this.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Speed up Effects - 15 years ago
In the Flasheff Panel in either "Show" or "Hide" there is an option button labeled "Tween". Under that setting is an option labeled "tweenDuration". That represents how long the actual animation will play for. Adjusting that will let you speed up or slow down the animation.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Show and hide transitions questions - 15 years ago
In the FlashEff Panel look under the Hide Button. You should see Pattern/Tween/Swap..etc. Choose the hide pattern you would like to use (it can be anything you want). After choosing the pattern Click on the Tween button. The tweenDuration slide is how many seconds the effect last on screen for. Under Options you'll see a delay heading with a number in there. That's how long the Hide effectby dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

I'm not sure how to do it with actionscript but could you edit the FEFWaterReflection to achieve the effect you want?by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Copy Paste Settings - 15 years ago
In the flash window you can copy the flasheff component you dragged into the window and paste it onto another MC or block of dynamic text. I"m not sure if thats what you are trying to accomplish. Also after you copy the component and paste it to its new object, don't forget to move it so it snaps on.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Where would I find the user created gallery? - 15 years ago
I'm not sure if its still around but you used to navigate to it using the "Pattern Showcase" link on the main page. Now that link directs you towards a tool that shows every pattern as they come stock with Flasheff. Personally I like the current format better. Before I found it difficult to know which pattern was doing what. *EDIT* Is that what you wanted?by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: To use MC or Dynamic Text? - 15 years ago
Nevermind. I figured it out. I've been making this way harder on myself than I needed toby dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
To use MC or Dynamic Text? - 15 years ago
Most of what I'm using Flasheff for involves just text. But watching the tutorials they tend to box text up as movie clips and then attach the component. I'm just wondering what the benefits/drawbacks to that method are over applying it directly to dynamic embedded text. Also I tend to have multiple effects going on at once, for example a paragraph of text may load in and certain keywordsby dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Do you really need 150 per animation in your FLA? - 15 years ago
You could cut down on frames by adjusting the delay time for each effect "Flasheff Panel -> Show or Hide ->Options". If you stagger their times you could probably just increment everything by 1 frame.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: New to FlashEff - trying the most basic experiment, need help - 15 years ago
Attach it like you did, but don't worry about adding any buffer frames. Look under the "Hide" tab in the flasheff panel. There is an Options sub-tab. In there you can change the delay before the hide effect starts.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

I'm a novice in the world of flash but have you tried preloading your swf?by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Duration time of animation? - 15 years ago
I know that you have to look at how long the tweenDuration property is, and also add any delay you might have for the Show and Hide properties. It would be a nice addition if each flasheff element told you how long its total duration was in frames or seconds. It would be good for quick reference when you are stacking many effects.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Beginner Questions - 15 years ago
Are you using the premium version or the free version? The free version is made so that you can view it normally inside a debugging environment but you can't export it. If you have the full version and you are getting the same problem then there might have been an error when you installed the component.by dmnerd - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
