Re: Using FE Buttons to create timeline controls (not FLV, but timeline) - 14 years ago
I tried using the FECCallFunctions as you described above. I tried to get it to go to frame 2. It didn't seem to work. I also tried the Command FECGoToFrame. What want it to do now is just go to frame 2. I put in the frame area 2. The name of my scene is "Main". I tried 2, "Main" I changed the Command over to FECNavigateToURL, tested it and it worked. Using FE Buttons to create timeline controls (not FLV, but timeline) - 14 years ago
To put it nicely, I am "AS3 challenged." What FECCallFunctions functionPath and parameters do I need to create separate buttons to stop, play, fast forward and rewind the main timeline? (I miss the relative simplicity of AS2, but I've almost completed this project with some nice FE 2 effects.)by tphoto - FlashEff 2.0
Re: Button to go to another scene - 14 years ago
This is great help. I really appreciate your response. I like this solution you've posted here. I also figured out another work around. My main "home" timeline is 400 frames. The other scenes are 100 frames each. So, on the button for "scene 2", I used FECGoToFrame 401. Because of the length of scenes, "scene 3" would be 501, and so on. I'm hosed if I change the lengby tphoto - FlashEff 2.0
Re: Button to go to another scene - 14 years ago
Thank you for your answer. It seems that when designing an entire website in Flash that making each page a separate scene is a good practice. The whole purpose of a button is to go somewhere else. I just wish it had the control to go to any frame in any scene. AS3 has certainly been a challenge for those of us who would rather be designing instead of coding. I was hoping FlashEff would be my soluby tphoto - FlashEff 2.0
Button to go to another scene - 14 years ago
I'm using the FlashEff2 button. When pressed, I need to go to a different scene. I used FECGoToFrame to jump to another frame within that scene, but what Command do I add to get the button to take you to the first frame of scene2 for example? Thanks, Jayby tphoto - FlashEff 2.0
Re: 2nd FlashEff component not working - 15 years ago
It appears to me that each text box must be put inside a Movie Clip to have more than one work. I tried this and it worked. This is an extra step not covered in the tutorials. Am I wrong? Got it working for now.by tphoto - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
2nd FlashEff component not working - 15 years ago
I'm new to FlashEff and I'm very frustrated. Thought this would be much easier with more reliable results. I applied an FETmagneticwind to the first dynamic text box in my FLA. Works fine. I created another dynamic text box with different instance name on a different layer. I brought in the FlashEff component, same procedures as the tutorials and as I did for the other one. I chose Show - FETmagnby tphoto - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
