hello,

Maybe because you are using the wrong flasheff component. We have have a different version of flasheff for flex. Here you can find it:

Shouldnt a simple wrapper class be sufficient if it is based on a sprite, then I can add it to a UIComponent and then add it into
a container?

Well, you can use flasheff2code in flex if you have flex advanced skill and knowledge, but we don't recommend it and don't offer any guarantee.

All you got to do is to drag the FlashEff2Code to the stage then export it as a SWC, then you add it to your flex project. Do the same with the effects you want to use.
