Error when testing Movie Clip

[FLASHEFF ERROR] You must set a non-null DisplayObject.

Trying to follow this tutorial and get the above error at the 3:40 mark after adding the animation to my logo:

any ideas?

The error means that the target object does not exist. Please make sure you added the FlashEff effect on a valid DisplayObject (text field or movie clip).
