Doesn't work? Or can't preview in Flash CS3?

I followed the directions in the documentation, everything appears to be correct, then when I go to "Test Movie" or "Test Scene", the effect is not applied.

If you are using FlashEff with multiple scenes, the effects placed starting from the second scene will not show up. We have a post that explains this problem: http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,491

Actually, this wasn't the problem. I was a fool and had the text set to static rather than dynamic. There goes a few hours. Bleh.

Well, dynamic text doesn't work either. I type in the txt, drag the eff component to it, open the panel, choose the text effect, run movie - and the screen is blank. Nothing. No text. No effect.

Don't forget to embed your font.
