testing free demo version with CS3

Hi all,

Is this normal behaviour ? I followed the tutorial and i can drag and drop the FlashEff2 component, but when i opens the FlashEff2 panel, it states : Select a FlashEff2 component from stage, but there is nothing else in that window ???. I can also drag and drop a Flash effect patern from the componets window, but the i get a rectangle with a black flesh eff border on top and below a green field with the word PATTERN, I tried some texteffects, but nothing is happening ?
What i'm i doing wrong ?
