simple text effects

this may be a ridiculous question but how can i get the FlashEff component to animate text? i drag the FlashEff2 component to a simple DYNAMIC TEXT field and then i select TEXT PATTERNS and select any of the Presets but nothing happens. i have been using FlashEff2 for several months and have created all kinds of animations, but i've never used TEXT effects before. I must be doing something wrong. can anyone help?

KNEO, Thanks! Tutorials are great! duh. But one more quick question: Do the Text Patterns not support CS4 text FILTERS? I added some Drop Shadow text filers that look great on the stage. Then I add my Text Pattern animations and the animations work great, but when you Test the Movie, the Filters are GONE. It elimates them from the final .swf. Is this by design or am i still doing something wrong?

Try to add the drop shadow trough flasheff. In flasheff's panel you have the filter tab, add it from there.
