AS3 Coding Queries: Custom Textfields + Flasheff2?

Hi there! I am currently working on a system to make customizable presentations in Flash with FlashEff2. I am doing all of this in AS3 but I have stumbled upon an issue:

I have an empty textfield on stage. It gets filled in with whichever label name is on the button I click. At that moment, Flasheff should also start a Show pattern on said textfield, but the Autoplay messes the timing up;
-on True, I believe Flasheff is doing the effect on an empty textfield making it seem like nothing happens? The title does not appear.
-on False, the title appears, but the show effect does not get applied.

Is there a simple way to have the textfields fill in, whilst at the same time Flasheffect does its thing after pressing a button?
