Use FlashEff by ActionScript3 code from a document class - 15 years ago
Here is an example on how to use the FlashEff component, from a document class. There are comments explaining the use of the component and patterns.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Some effects show slowly - 15 years ago
Please keep in mind that some of the effects are very CPU intensive, so the more accurate you would like them to be, the slower they will run (depending on the CPU speed). You need to tweek the effect settings to try to get to the effect you want with the less CPU usage. Also when viewing effects, make sure you don't have that effect left open in the Flash IDE, in the browser player and in theby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

You can find more information on the component in the How to use section of the site or you can watch the video tutorials (we have quite a few). You'll also find some extra information in this forum too.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: How to set positionX and blurX in actionscript - 15 years ago
The FlashEff component itself does not have the positionX and blurX properties. Those properties are located on the pattern itself. So you should write showPattern.positionX = 0; showPattern.positionY = 250; showPattern.blurX = 0; showPattern.blurY = 0; or myEffect.showTransition.positionX = 0; myEffect.showTransition.positionY = 250; myEffect.showTransition.blurX = 0; myEffect.showTransiby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Link from my ad - 15 years ago
This is a security measure of the Flash player. When running .swf files on your local system, it doesn't allow accessing Internet resources without specific permission. You need to set the Flash player to allow the .swf file to access the Internet (normally, it should be working when tested in the Flash IDE or up on the Internet, on the same domain it tries to access). To set the permission for tby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Banner Ads & File Size - 15 years ago
We don't have a certain compression software to recommend you, but we certainly can give you some advices on how to keep your file to a minimum size. First of all, since it's a banner, we recommend using a minimal number of slides/animations. Also, you need to pay attention to how many images you are using - a maximum of two would be quite ok or maybe one single image as the background of theby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Error #1063 - 15 years ago
The FlashEff component uses TweenLite for the animations. Please make sure that you don't have the TweenLite framework somewhere in your project folder so Flash would use that one instead of the one embedded in FlashEff.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: FlashEff crashes Flash CS3 and CS4 - 15 years ago
TxEff was created for Flash CS3 and not Flash CS4, so it is possible that TxEff and TXEFFWR will not work in Flash CS4. Also, it is possible that the FlashEff and TxEff2 problem with Flash CS4 on Windows Vista could be a problem of Adobe Flash CS4 itself, since we tested the component on CS3 and CS4, on Mac OS, Windows XP and Windows Vista, and everything worked just fine. Re: Link from my ad - 15 years ago
Just draw a shape on the stage, select it and transform it to movie clip (hit F8 or right-click on it and select "Convert to symbol" from the popup menu or use the main menu: Modify -> Convert to symbol). Once you converted it into a movie clip you can stretch it to have the same size as your stage, then make it transparent and add the code for the MouseEvent.CLICK event that would oby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: no error, no output, minimal as3 example does not work - 15 years ago
The problem was you didn't embed the font in the Library and the text format should have been set to the text field before the text is set. Please see the file.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Go to Next Scene - 15 years ago
Well... first of all there is no goToPlay() method defined on the root object (I guess you are referring to gotoAndPlay()). Also, gotoAndPlay() cannot be called directly on the root object because the root object is returned as a DisplayObject and the gotoAndPlay() method is defined on MovieClip objects. So you have to typecast the root object to MovieClip ( MovieClip(this.root).gotoAndPlay(...)by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: External text not loading:S - 15 years ago
I managed to take a look at your files. Actually the external text is loading but is not showing up because of several problems. I'll explain them for each file. - Main_banner.fla - all the external lines are loading but the first line (<line1>) is not showing up because the clip containing the corresponding text field is not on the stage (this.line1 is undefined) - so when you try to seby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Flash CS3: Text Animation (Repeat) - 15 years ago
I managed to look over your file and the solution is simple. Put the text field and the FlashEff instance on frame 2, not on frame 1, so FlashEff has enough time to reinitialize. Re: Blinking Characters in Flash Eff version 6.6.1? - 15 years ago
Yes, I think that most probably the problem is the font you are using, Unfortunately we can't test FlashEff with all the existing fonts so we can't tell exactly if it will work on all of them. I think the problem is with the layout of the font since it's a script font and Flash doesn't return the entire size of the characters, so this is why parts of some characters are left out of the animation.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Flash CS3: Text Animation (Repeat) - 15 years ago
You can do it two ways: - you can either use code to restart the animation (listen for the TRANSITION_END event so you know when it has finished) - or you can leave the target text field and the FlashEff component instance on the stage for as many frames as the animation needs (you'll have to find out the number of frames it needs based on the duration of the effect and the frame rate of your fby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: SOOO FRUSTRATED!!!! - 15 years ago

Re: how big is the texeff 2 component? - 15 years ago
You need to remove it from the Library too. Unfortunately these are the sizes the component and pattern ads to the file and you can't get any lower than that. You could manage a 50k limit but the 30k limit is very tight. The component and patterns rely on heavy code which has to be imported into the fla file.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: FlashEff crashes Flash CS3 and CS4 - 15 years ago
I can only give you the same advice as for the JavaScript error messages: Please check to see if you are the main user on Mac and if Adobe Flash and FlashEff were installed in your own users. Otherwise the problem might be that you try to use Flash and FlashEff from a different user than Flash was installed on. In this case FlashEff wouldn't find all the files it needs because of different useby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: NO ACCESS TO PREMIUM EFFECTS AFTER PURCHASE - 15 years ago
We tested FlashEff with your account and it seemed to be working just fine. Please make sure that FlashEff was installed correctly and that there are no files missing. Also, it could be a problem if you have Adobe Flash CS3 with a different language version than English. Re: White lines over bitmap on some effects? - 15 years ago
Please try to place the target object (movie clip/sprite/text field) to integer coordinates (x and y should be integers). Chances are, that this happens because the coordinates of your target object are float numbers and not integers.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Tweening text field after intial transition - 15 years ago
Try to place the entire effect (show and hide) into a container movie clip and then tween that movie clip from a smaller size to a larger one. That movie clip should contain the text field and the FlashEff instance that makes the show/hide animations).by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: how big is the texeff 2 component? - 15 years ago
The component is a little over 20 KB. You can test the component by downloading and installing the free version of FlashEff, since TxEff2 is based on FlashEff - it's a limited version of FlashEff. Re: Effect works in first frame of fla only - 15 years ago
That flashing you get means that something is not set correctly for the component. First of all, please make sure your .fla file is set to publish for Flash Player 9 and ActionScript 3.0. Then check to see whether the FlashEff component and patterns have the "Export on first frame" option checked and that you project is set to export classes to the first frame - or export classes to anoby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
