Re: as3 FlashEff changes displaylist - 15 years ago
Indeed, a complex story, but I got the idea. Your assumption is correct: FlashEff takes the target object and places it inside it's own container so it can make any necessary changes that the effect requires. So as long as the FlashEff instance is applied, the target object (movie clip or text field) will change its parent in the display list from the original parent to a FlashEff container. Re: Blinking FlashEff logo and troubleshooting - 15 years ago
@mrfowler I think I know what you mean. However, the way you made the tests, Flash should have saved the file without problems. I've remade the tests myself, exactly the way you presented the steps and all the settings were saved correctly. However, we've just discovered a problem that might have happened to you: - apply a FlashEff efect over a target object - save the file - than change soby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

@dmnerd That's a good idea, thank you for sharing it. I'll surely pass it to my colleagues working on the project. However, you could see the duration for each effect by opening the panel. Thanks anyway.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Blinking FlashEff logo and troubleshooting - 15 years ago
That's quite a strange problem you have there... This is the first time I hear about it... Did you manage to save your fla file before closing it ? Maybe there was a problem with Flash and closed unexpectedly and the open fla file was not saved (I've experienced it a few times). Unfortunately, I don't really have any other idea of what could have happened. Especially since FlashEff doesn't reallyby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: flasheff demo can not install on intel mac! - 15 years ago
As the message says, you need to select a FlashEff instance on the stage. So you would have to have a FlashEff component on the stage for the panel to display something. Just drag the FlashEff component over a text field or movie clip from the stage and then select it and open the panel. Please follow our video tutorials: http://www.flasheff.com/tutorials/. They will show you how to use the compoby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Duration time of animation? - 15 years ago
Just open up the FlashEff panel (or TxEff2 panel if you are using TxEff2) which you can find in the Window -> Other panels menu, select the show or hide effect you like and then set the tweenDuration property to how many seconds you would like the animation to run. You can find the tweenDuration property in the Tween sub-tab of the Show and Hide tabs. For more information on how to use the comby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: flasheff demo can not install on intel mac! - 15 years ago
The Flash components (not just FlashEff) should be installing fine on Mac OS. We've tested them and we are using them on Mac OS X 10.5.5 without any problem (I have a an Intel based MacBook Pro). If you say you are from Germany, I'm guessing you are using the German language version of Adobe Flash CS3 in German :). In that case it is possible that Extension Manager didn't install them in the corrby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: tx eff problems with director 11 - 15 years ago
The FlashEff component was created to be used with Flash and not Director. It has been tested only with Flash so we cannot say how or if the imported swf will work in Director. Regarding the projector, we genera projector files based on FlashEff animation and they worked just fine.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Permanent Internet Connection required to use TxEff premium Patterns - 15 years ago
Actually there are no settings for the TxEff2 or FlashEff component/panel. The panels access the Internet through Adobe Flash. So all you have to do is make sure that Adobe Flash has access to the Internet (firewalls and proxies should be set to allow it). Usually Adobe Flash uses port 80 to access the Internet so it should have permission as an application.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Making a slide button - 15 years ago
Unfortunately the component does not have button pattern that would do the sliding for you. However you could create a function that would do the sliding for you and call it when the user selects that movie clip. For this, you could use the command pattern FECCallFunction which would call your function that does the sliding and you can specify the event type when that function should be called (pby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Beginner Questions - 15 years ago
All FlashEff versions can be exported into .swf and viewed with the standard Flash Player, they don't require a debugging version for that. The problem of blinking FlashEff might have several causes: first of all, make sure that the exported .swf file is really opened with Flash Player 9 (if you also have Flash Player 8 installed, the OS might open the .swf files by default with Flash 8 - so youby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: problem with TxEff2 - 15 years ago
If the text animation does not show up, most likely you didn't embed the characters. The TxEff2, just like FlashEff, needs to be applied on dynamic text fields with anti-alias for animation, HTML enabled and embedded characters. Please look at the tutorials for FlashEff because TxEff2 us actually a skinned down version of FlashEff, meaning that it has only the show/hide transitions and filter feaby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Blinking FlashEff logo and troubleshooting - 15 years ago
Well, blinking might occur for several reasons. I think the most common of them is because of the large number of text effects used in the clip. Usually that would result in an error message: "5005: Unknown error optimizing byte code.". In this case this post might help you: http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,749,749#msg-749 - it shows you how to turn off the optimizer from the Fby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: Load text from external text file .. - 15 years ago
The FlashEff component must be applied directly on a TextField (not TextArea) if you want to use it to animate text. As for making sequential animations, we don't really have a tutorial for that, but you can check out the help pages for the properties, methods and events of the component: http://www.flasheff.com/howtouse/. For sequential animations you should turn off the auto play feature ofby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: CopyId from gallery - different final effect - 15 years ago
That's quite weird... Normally you shouldn't need to restart the computer after installing a Flash component. But if this worked for you, then I'm glad the problem was fixed.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: CopyId from gallery - different final effect - 15 years ago
When you import an effect using its id from the gallery, the import dialog box lets you select which parts of the effect you want to import. The effect you mentioned (FE1315), has both show and hide effects and a filter effect. If you uncheck the hide effect it will not get imported and of course, it will not get applied so the target text will not hide. Please make sure that the hide effect is aby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)

Re: publishing a effect - 15 years ago
The Publish option from the FlashEff panel only publishes your effect to the effects gallery on flasheff.com. It has nothing to do with your project. TypeError: fileList[i].split is not a function - fixed - 15 years ago
With the help of one of our clients we managed to solve the issue of the JavaScript error message regarding the fileList.split function. Re: Just installed CS4 - No Flasheff Menu - 15 years ago
Try to uninstall the component and reinstall then using the new Extension Manager. Perhaps there were some problems during the migration. Optimize fla option in FlashEff panel - 15 years ago
The "optimize fla" option in the FlashEff panel (Menu -> Optimize fla) is meant to remove from Library all the unused patterns. For example, you are trying to animate some text and go through the different text patterns listed in the panel to find a suitable animation. Each time you select a pattern from the list (regardless of the type of pattern) the FlashEff panel applies it on yoby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: How to use : class only - 15 years ago
The example should be working just as is, I'm not exactly sure what the problem might be. Anyway, there is a list of class paths for the FlashEff patterns, if you would like to use them by code (you would have to import those pattern classes) but you need to place those patterns in the Library in order for you to use them. The class paths are actually compiled into the patterns.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
