FlashEff2 doesn't work with TLF text field in Flash CS5 - 13 years ago
The FlashEff2 component does not work with the new TLF text in Adobe Flash CS5. Whenever applying a text effect on a TLF text, there's an error message displayed: FLASHEFF2 ERROR: You have placed a text pattern over a symbol. Please use a symbol pattern instead! The solution is to apply the FlashEff2 component on a traditional dynamic text field: select the text field, change the text field frby negush - FlashEff 2.0

Re: problem calling .swf header from main frame - 15 years ago
I think another solution for you would be to load in your swf file another external swf containing the FlashEff component and the patterns you need plus the embedded characters, to be used as an external Library. So when the main fla loads your file, you'll load the other swf that contains FlashEff and you should be able to instantiate by code FlashEff and the patterns you placed in the externalby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Import By Id - 15 years ago
Is it happening when importing effects with a specific pattern or it happens with all patterns ? And what id are you trying to import ? Also what pattern are you trying to preview ? Is it happening when previewing a specific pattern ?by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Do you really need 150 per animation in your FLA? - 15 years ago
You can also set delays for the show effects - just set the showDelay property (which by default is 0). So you can set the show effect for your second animation to start after the entire first animation (show tweenDuration + hideDelay + hide tweenDuration). You can do that for all your FlashEff animations and you could even place all of them on the same frame. Just remember to make your target obby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: New to FlashEff - trying the most basic experiment, need help - 15 years ago
Yeap, you need to change the hideDelay property as dmnerd said.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: problem calling .swf header from main frame - 15 years ago
Yes, the problem is that after loading the .swf file with flasheff animations, the file does no longer find FlashEff in its Library. You can either place a copy of the FlashEff component and patterns in the Library of your main file. You should also have there the embedded font. Another solution would be to load the .swf file into your main application using another ApplicationDomain. Maybe thisby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: How to install Flasheff - 15 years ago
To install FlashEff you need to use Adobe Extension Manager version 1.8 (CS3) or version 2 (CS4), otherwise the earlier versions of Extension Manager will not install it. You can download Extension Manager from Adobe's site: http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: no flasheff panel on flash CS4 !! - 15 years ago
No, you don't need to downgrade to CS3. If you are using the English version of Flash CS4, make sure that the component is found in the en folder. If you are using another language version of Flash CS4, the component should be installed in the corresponding configuration folder (fr for French, de for German, pl for Poland and so on...).by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Custom Params - 15 years ago
Glad you managed to solve the problem. Indeed, the contents of the panel depend on the user that is logging in.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Custom Params - 15 years ago
You can find here the list of properties, methods and events of the FlashEff component: http://www.flasheff.com/howtouse_properties/, http://www.flasheff.com/howtouse_methods/ and http://www.flasheff.com/howtouse_events/. The properties of the patterns you'll have to look them up in the FlashEff panel.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: After animation, filters not working - 15 years ago
Unfortunately native Flash filters will not be displayed on objects that have FlashEff applied to them. What you can do is remove FlashEff once the animation is over and then apply the pattern, or simply wrap the target object (text field or movie clip) and the FlashEff instance into a container movie clip and add the filter directly to that container, so the filter will be applied all the time.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Custom Params - 15 years ago
The problem is with the properties of the patterns. You must keep in mind that those properties belong to the pattern and not to the actual FlashEff instance, so properties like focusIndex, partialGroup and blurCoef do not belong to the FlashEff component and there will be error messages displayed. The properties belong to the pattern so you need to reference the pattern first, like this: myEffecby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Pb with font size (127) - 15 years ago
Thank you for the comments. Please write to our support team (support jumpeyecomponents com) and attach the source fla file that reproduces the error with both patterns. They'll be happy to look into the problem and try to find a solution. Thanks again.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Custom Params - 15 years ago
The properties of the patterns are the exact same properties that are displayed in the FlashEff panel for each pattern - have the exact same name.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Custom Params - 15 years ago
The component can be used entirely by code and we have a couple of posts as examples: http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,929,929#msg-929 , http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,393, http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,635 and http://www.flasheff.com/forum/read.php?23,911. Indeed it's a little hard to find information on how to use the component by code so I'll talk to my colleaguby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Pb with font size (127) - 15 years ago
Thank you for your interest in our component. That trick with scaling the text field should work without problems. We have tested it and other clients used it with success. I've set the font size to 127 px (Arial) and scaled the text field to 250% both on the x and y axis and then applied the FlashEff instance. The effects displayed correctly using several FlashEff patterns. Do you have a patternby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Purchased flasheff and Txeff2 and don't see Typewriter effect - 15 years ago
This problem has been solved through email. We're really sorry for the confusion but for technical reasons not all of TxEff1 patterns were included in FlashEff and TxEff2. Here you can find a list of the patterns of TxEff1- http://www.jumpeyecomponents.com/Flash-Components/Transition-Effects/TxEff-Full-License-123/patterns.htm - and compare it with the text patterns (FET) in FlashEff and TxEffby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Optimize fla removes hte effects - 15 years ago
If you could send over your source fla file we would look into it to see what the problem is. Just write to the support team (support jumpeyecomponents com) and make sure to attach your source files to the mail.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Advanced presentation in Flash - 15 years ago
First of all, FlashEff can ONLY be used to create show/hide animations, button effects and apply filters on objects. The entire logic of loading and playing external .swf files and the navigation has to be done by you separately with Adobe Flash CS3 or CS4.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Optimize fla removes hte effects - 15 years ago
We've made some changes to the panel and now it looks into movie clips too but you should keep in mind that if there are a lot of FlashEff instances and a lot of movie clips, Flash could crash because of the too high amount of processing. The new panel is already on the server and you can test it out by simply restarting Flash and reopening the panel. Please let us know how it goes.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Optimize fla removes hte effects - 15 years ago
Unfortunately there is indeed a problem with optimize fla in case the FlashEff instances are placed inside movie clips. This is because the panel cannot check every movie clip for FlashEff instances because this might freeze/crash Flash completely. This is why the panel only checks for the FlashEff instances placed directly on the stage. If you have FlashEff instances placed on the stage andby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Flash CS4 - component not showing up - 15 years ago

Re: FlashEff component not attaching to image - 15 years ago

Re: Apply Hide pattern to entire stage?? - 15 years ago
In my personal opinion the Help of Flash is quite good enough to get you started with ActionScript 3. It has things pretty well explained plus examples. Also, I think that Colin Moock's book - Essential ActionScript 3.0 - would be of great help.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: flasheff not visible - 15 years ago
Please make sure that you are creating an new AS3 file (not AS2). Also, if the components do not display, maybe this knowledge base article would help you: http://www.jumpeyecomponents.com/knowledgebase/*-Flash-~-general-use-problems/After-installation-components-do-not-show-up-in-Components-panel~1051/.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Apply Hide pattern to entire stage?? - 15 years ago
You could create by code another movie clip container and take all of the objects on stage and reassign their parent to the movie clip and then apply the FlashEff to that container clip. You can only do this by writing code.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Holding an image on the stage - 15 years ago
he solution is quite simple: use one instance of FlashEff for the show effect and once it's over, it leaves the text visible. When you navigate to a different part of your site, use another FlashEff instance to apply the hide effect.by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: FlashEff component not attaching to image - 15 years ago
The banding problem is quite strange. I'm working on a Mac Book Pro (GeForce 8600M GT video card) and never had that problem. I'm not sure if the graphics card has anything to do with it because the panel is actually a Flash application that plays inside that panel. So the problem should be with Flash Player (Adobe Flash uses an embedded Flash Player for the panels) but since you didn't experiencby negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
Re: Flash CS3 - crashing - 15 years ago
Unfortunately we're not sure if this problem relates to the component or some other Adobe Flash problem. The component simply uses the resources Adobe Flash puts at disposal (especially JSFL used by the FlashEff panel).by negush - FlashEff 1 (Discontinued version)
