text aligns incorrectly

I am trying out Flash Eff, and on my first test, I placed two text boxes centered on stage - one above the other. I put the same effect on each, and when I test the movie, the second line is no longer centered, but it is now right aligned with the top line. Why is this, and how do I fix it?

Make sure you set the textfield to be multiline and embed the text.
You'll need to add two components, one on each text field.
Also, the video tutorials could help you understand how everything works.

I have set it up as you describe, and still get the same result.

Your textfield needs to be created in Flash.
To fix your example, delete the current text field and create a new one and embed the text

These textfields were created in the IDE, and the fonts are already embedded.

Well, I just removed the textfields and recreated them, that seemed to work for me.
