Setting XY causes effect to not show

I have a movieclip that has two dynamic text objects. I use the Symbol effect on the movieclip. I am resizing one of the text object and that appears to be ok and the effect still works. When I set the XY of the movieclip then the Effect stops working? Really it is not showing on screen. I checked the placement in the properties and all looks good.

My Movieclip name: Answer1_mc.x = AnswerStartXY[0];
My Effect name: Eff_Answer1

I have tried setting the x,y of the Effect and that still does not help? Does anyone have any suggestions.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no apparent reason for that problem and I can't imagine why it should throw that error.
I would be willing to look at the files if you either write to the support staff and attach the file or upload it to a FTP server and give me the link.
